Quality Manager

Career Opportunity As a Quality Manager you will ensure that quality standards are met and maintained by understanding, implementing, and enforcing Customer, Regulatory, and WestRock processes, policies, and procedures. As a Quality Manager you will be accountable for internal and external quality complaint resolution, execution of audits, supporting and promoting Stevenson products to our customers, and ensuring efficient and smooth operations of quality systems. How you will impact WestRock o Review, approve, and execute facility and corporate quality standard operating procedures for site implementation o Coordinate and execute internal, customer, supplier, subcontractor, and regulatory audits o Monitor and ensure compliance with current policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements o Coordinate and execute investigation of detected risks or failures, complaints, and corrective/preventative actions, and resolve claims in a timely manner o Work closely with production managers to maximize product quality and reliability, and minimize cost o Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for all internal quality and customer complaint issues o Represent the mill on the corporate quality team o Work with purchasing to establish quality requirements for suppliers o Leverage enterprise technology to analyze quality complaints, track corrective and preventive actions, and resolve issues related to rejected products when applicable o Execute facility improvement initiatives as determined from performance data o Lead and administer ISO certification and implementation processes o Lead the CompliantPro documentation process o Assist with trials to improve product characteristics and performance o Organize required sample collection and testing, providing guidance to the lab technician o Provide tools and training for quality management and quality improvement to the facility staff o Communicate up and down, and to the entire mill, in monthly reports, newsletter articles, and Marlin system notices. What you need to succeed:
o BS Degree in Engineering, Paper Science, or related field o Must have 5 to 10 years of work-related manufacturing experience, preferably in paper o Should have 3 to 5 years? experience in production supervisory role o Demonstrate strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire others to comply with quality standards o Be customer centric, with a positive attitude and desire to achieve through routine communication with internal customers o Proven track record of problem-solving and analytical capabilities o Thorough knowledge of quality systems, standards, and methodologies o Availability to travel to customer locations to help solve issues, at times on short notice o High attention to detail, commitment to excellence, having a safety mindset, and demonstrating integrity of character are all important traits o Ability to learn proprietary software programs and leverage enterprise complaint management software o Professional training and quality certifications courses (e.g. Six Sigma, ISO Certification, ASQ) are preferred
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Quality ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
